Why We Offer It

A Roof Shouldn't Wait for the Perfect Time

Roofs rarely fail on a convenient schedule. A storm comes through, or an inspection turns up damage, and suddenly you are looking at a project you did not plan to pay for this year. I have sat at a lot of kitchen tables with homeowners in exactly that spot.

That is why we offer roof financing through Service Finance Company. It lets you do the job right, with the materials and protection your home actually needs, and spread the cost into payments that fit your budget. You are not forced to pick the cheapest option just because of what is in the checking account this month.

Below I will walk you through how it works, the kinds of plans available, and who the lender is. When you are ready, we will help you apply as part of your free estimate.

Watch: Your Roof Financing Options Explained

In about three minutes, I walk through how financing works at Better Way and how it helps homeowners get the roof they need without the stress of paying it all up front.

Read the video transcript

Hey guys, I'm Lyle from Better Way Roofing. A lot of people have the question of what the process of financing is. Typically we do it right from the iPad. We just need some information, and usually we'd like to see at least a 580 credit score, based on the provider we use.

From there we need the job type, which is roofing, because our provider does other types of loans as well. Then the loan type. We've got a whole list of loan types that we'll share with you, and you choose whichever one best fits your needs in terms of monthly payment and overall interest rate. Our most popular ones are the no-interest, equal monthly payment plans. Those are typically 25, 36, 48, 60, or 72 months. There's also a dealer fee, a percentage that gets added to the contract.

Next is your driver's license. We can either scan it or enter it manually. We just need the expiration date, the issue date, and the correct name as it appears on the license. Then your mortgage payment, what you pay them per month, along with your date of birth and email.

We'll also need the property where we're installing the new roof. If that differs from your original address, we can put your home address in as well, but typically it'll be the property we're servicing. And then we need your employer's name and your monthly income, which can be everybody in the household. If both husband and wife work, we can add those together and use that for the combined monthly income.

And yeah, that's typically it. We'll usually have an answer within five to ten minutes. Sometimes it's almost automatic, and sometimes it'll take a few minutes and say it's in review, and then we'll get that back approved or denied. That's the basic process.

Plan Options

Plans Built Around Your Budget

Quick Answer: Service Finance Company offers more than fifty financing programs, so there is usually a plan that fits. Here are the three kinds homeowners ask about most.

Pay Over Time

Low Monthly Payments

Spread the cost of your roof across a longer term so the monthly payment fits comfortably alongside your other bills. Terms run from a few years up to as long as twenty years on qualifying plans, with a fixed payment you can plan around.

No Interest If Paid In Full

Same-As-Cash

Get the roof now and pay zero interest if you clear the balance within the promotional window. This is popular with homeowners who have an insurance check or funds coming and just need to bridge the gap.

Low Starter Payments

Deferred Plans

Make small minimum payments up front with interest deferred for a set period. A good fit when you want the work done immediately but expect more room in the budget a little down the road.

Plans, terms, and rates are set by Service Finance Company and are subject to credit approval. Available programs change from time to time, so the best step is to ask us for the plans available today and we will match you with the right one for your project.

Lyle's Pro Tips

How I'd Approach Financing a Roof

Lyle's Pro Tip

If you have an insurance check coming, a same-as-cash plan is your friend. It lets us start the work right away, and when the claim funds land you pay it off and owe no interest.

Lyle's Pro Tip

Don't let a monthly payment talk you into the wrong roof. I would rather finance the roof that lasts than save a little now on one we both know will need replacing too soon. Spread the cost of doing it right.

Lyle's Pro Tip

Financing isn't only for the whole roof. Plenty of homeowners use it to cover their deductible or an upgrade their insurance won't pay for, like stepping up to metal. Ask us and we'll show you the math.
